About the Hearing, Balance and Speech Center

The Hearing, Balance and Speech Center was founded in 1988, by its current Owner and Director, Dr. Natan Bauman. We offer state-of -the-art testing, diagnostics, and hearing devices for those who have may have a hearing problem.  We can also service and repair a wide-variety of hearing aids

Our center is well known for it's ability to develop innovative methods for helping those who are hard of hearing.  The most revolutionary hearing aid on the market, "Vivatone^® “, was invented specifically for one of Dr. Bauman’s patients in our Hamden office.  The patient wanted a device that would not “plug up” his hears, would provide a natural sound, was comfortable, and barely noticeable.  Dr. Bauman came up with the first-ever open-fit hearing device.  This technology has revolutionalized the hearing aid industry.  Many other hearing aid manufacturers have copied this same style of hearing aid and owe it all to Dr. Bauman.  As a result of this open-fit technology being invented at the Hearing, Balance and Speech Center, we pride ourselves in being the “experts” in fitting patients with this technology.

We have 3 Professionally Certified and Licensed Audiologists and 2 Certified and Licensed Hearing Aid Specialists.  To efficiently provide service to Connecticut residents and those in convenient neighboring states (New York and Massachusetts), we have office locations in Hamden, Norwalk, Branford, Guilford, and Bristol.

Appointments are available by appointment only.  We accept most major insurances and medicare.  Our friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding scheduling and payment arrangements.
